In 1992, world famous ceramist, Ken Edwards, visited Guatemala looking for a source of clay. He settled in San Antonio Palopo, where he trained curious young villagers to make ceramics. The villagers learned new skills to create functional and decorative ceramics and developed their own decorating styles. These ceramics are high fired for durability and decorated with lead free glazes.
